The IV international conference "Scientific and technological progress in steel industry" was held in Cherepovets23 September 2019
The fifth international conference dedicated to developing trends of ferrous metallurgy in the Russian Federation and abroad was held from September 18 to September 20, 2019.
PJSC Severstal and Cherepovets State University (CSU) held a joint conference dedicated to developing trends of ferrous metallurgy in Russia and abroad.
The event took place from September 18 to 20 in Cherepovets on the basis of CSU with PJSC Severstal involvement.
Scientists and research teams, as well as representatives of enterprises operating in ferrous metallurgy industry, were invited to take part in the conference.A huge number of presentations concerned issues of current trends, problems and development paths within constant changes in metallurgical industry.
Under the Steel Production section, Russian Mining and Chemical Society LLC, together with representatives of Severstal PJSC, made a presentation on the topic: "The use of high-magnitude flux FluMag® in steel manufacture within oxygen converter". The presentation aroused interest among the audience, lots of whom asked clarifying questions and noted the prospects of using magnesia products based on brucite in steel production processes.
The conference program also included several excursions with visits of the Museum of the Metallurgical Industry and Cherepovets Steel Mill (CSM) where guests were told about metallurgical production processes and the progress of technology from its origins to nowadays.Go to news list
