Participation in XV anniversary International Congress of steelmakers and metal producers ISCON-2018
Congress organized by Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH) and the Interregional Public Organization УAssociation of SteelmakersФ was held in Tula in the period 16 -19 October. The program was dedicated to 100th anniversary of the National University of Science and Technology MISiS and 380th anniversary of Russian metallurgy.
More than 350 managers and specialists of Russian and foreign steelmaking companies, research institutes and development organizations, universities and project organizations participated in the event. The congress was divided into 6 sections, where priority questions of metallurgical industry were discussed including prospects for the development of steel making industry, energy efficiency and efficient use of resources issues, modern requirements to specialty steelmaking, quality control and standardization and many more.
Representatives of LLC RMCC gave a report on the topic УUse of magnesian flux FluMagЃ in converter productionФ in the Congress section УSteel production and special electrometallurgyФ. The report was dedicated to studies of the effectiveness of FluMagЃ using for formation of high-quality slag skull in the process of steel making. Among the results, it was noted that the use of brucite-based flux provides accelerated saturation of magnesium oxide in converter slags during the initial period of melting, and also forms a stable skull coating for the converter lining, resulting in an increasing of the resistance of fire-retardants to 20%. The successful conclusions of industrial tests suggest that the use of flux FluMagЃ is a developing and promising direction in steelmaking.Go to news list
